City-States (Historical Context) 
(Note: We are not advocating for Sovereign City-States)
Throughout history their have been civilizations that have recognized the importance of gathering together for security, commerce, culture, and politics to form City-States. They are generally associated with the
 Greek Empire: Athens, Sparta, Carthage  Roman Empire: Rome Italian (Renaissance) City States: Florence, Venice, Milan. Surprisingly, there are still a couple of City States that exist today. The key characteristics to a Sovereign City-State is it's Sovereignty.
