Consider the following facts:

  • About half of the U.S. population lives within one of the 48 major metropolitan urban centers in America.

  • Eighty five percent of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is produced in 259 major and minor urban metropolitan areas throughout America.

  • The United States economy makes up approximately 23% of the global output and boasts an annual economic productivity of 17.3 trillion dollars.

  • The U.S.’s metropolitan urban centers are expected to “generate more than ten percent of global GDP growth in the next 15 years, a larger contribution than all of the large cities of other developed countries combined.”

  • The greater New York City's metropolitan area alone contributes up to 1.5 trillion dollars of economic productivity.

  • Baltimore’s economic productivity contributes approximately 181 billion dollars to the nations GDP.
